Troy Phillips has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry.  He currently serves as Senior Director at Cerner with executive responsibility for Revenue Cycle Patient Accounting Solution Strategy.  

Prior to joining Cerner, Troy performed a similar role at Siemens Health Services.  Other roles include Senior Manager in the management consulting practice at Accenture, CFO and compliance officer at a small community hospital, finance director of a children’s hospital, revenue cycle director for and academic medical center and 800-physician multi-specialty academic medical group, and a director of information technology over fiscal systems.  Troy’s experience also includes leading business analytics and managing customer service operations at a large managed care organization and co-founding an emergency medical services organization in central Pennsylvania.

Troy is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and is a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP).  He is a member of the Project Management Institute and holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) credential.  He also maintains his paramedic (EMT-P) certification.  Troy recently returned to the classroom as a student where he is a Ph.D. student at Penn State University studying workforce education focused on human resource development.  His current research includes studying the role of structured on-the-job training in developing the patient teaching competency for healthcare providers.
